Hybrid space: Keramistro

Yet another semester project, this time the goal was to design a hybrid public space of our own choice. I chose to combine a ceramics studio with a bistro. The property was located in Oudenaarde in the Heistraat.

I used the entire space as an exhibition space for the ceramics. This way, visitors who have a drink in the bistro, can view the work. To complement the craft of ceramics, I used natural materials as much as possible, with a lot of wood, green mosaic tiles on and behind the bar, and leaving a large wall completely in unfinished rough brick. For the rest I left the interior very simple, so that the massive wooden ceramic racks come out prominently.
